This image was a simple edit of taking this "tehcno-tree" and turning it into a web of connectivity! After linking all the icons on the tree to give a better example of the connectivity of the web, i added two stick figures (some of my best work, wouldn't you agree?) with smartphones, with some electricity showing them both connecting to the same web. This image was to represent how two people, no matter how far, could always, in a sense, be with each other through the power of modern technology.

This image was a rather depressing one to make in all honesty. After a bit of cropping and some general "touching up of the image" (which included things like removing random clutter and such), I changed the picture to grey scale, to represent the general bleakness of the situation one finds them self in when blind. The grey scale shows how the world can lose a lot of its luster and charm without color, while the focus on the cane shows us that there is always a way forward, despite how dark and grey things may seem.

And here we have one of my more... disturbing images... after adding the world scam to the signs and shifting the image to grey scale, I clipped in the top half of a terrifying apple image (because the most popular smartphone is apple, get it? haha...). The result was a disturbing photo meant to invoke the dangers that our modern technology can impose, as tricking people and stealing their information using wild promises and ideas is now easier than ever!

This edited photo was as simple as taking a photo of a library's audio book section, adding yellow, shimmering lines around them to give them a more glorious appearance, and then adding in a few ear icons to reiterate to the reader that these were books to be listened to. the purpose of this edit was to reinforce the idea that ordering audio books was a big deal for the sightless, as it was entertainment made almost directly for them.
|
My next edit was also meant to reinforce the idea of the different doors that opened up to my mother with her acquisition of the voiceover technology. The simple computer formed the backdrop as I added to the center art of a book, adding the @ symbol (the best way to represent an audio book with just one book if I do say so myself). Finally I drew two dollar signs to complete the image by implying that this was online shopping.

Last but not least was my first ever Photoshop job. after cutting out an image of a horse and resizing it to tiny proportions, I added it to a close up photo of a rather large bee, which I had touched up using the image healing tool to remove a few white hairs here and there for a generally smoother look. This image was meant to be a stand in for a funny picture I would send to my mother now that she had become so digitally literate. The image itself should be self explanatory: big bee + tiny horse = mild chuckle.
